Are YOU Ready for the PSAT/NMSQT®?

The PSAT/NMSQT® will be given to all 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students on Wed., Oct. 13th. By taking this test, students may have a chance to qualify for various National Recognition Program awards from the College Board!

Sophomores and juniors who perform well on the PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT™10, or receive a 3 or higher on two or more AP® Exams this spring will be invited to apply for recognition awards if they:

  • Attend school in a rural area/small town or

  • Identify as Black/African American, Latinx/Hispanic, or Indigenous

  • Have a 3.5 GPA or higher

Students who receive National Recognition Program awards can add them to their college applications as proof of their outstanding academic achievement. Many colleges and scholarship programs specifically want to connect with awardees of our National Recognition Programs through Student Search Service®. We recommend students take the following steps to ensure they are able to be invited to apply for these awards:

  1. Take the PSAT/NMSQT in October. Students can practice for free to get ready for the test.

  2. Fill out their race/ethnicity information when taking the test so they can be matched with awards they qualify for.

  3. Sign up for Student Search Service to ensure that colleges and scholarship programs can contact them after the test.
