SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY: 2023 Mayor’s Asian American Advisory Board Asian American High School Scholarship

The City of Jacksonville’s Mayor’s Asian American Advisory Board is conducting a scholarship for Asian American High School students in April. The Scholarship will be awarded to three (4) top Asian American high school students in the amount of $1,000 each in May as part of our Asian American and Pacific Islander Celebration.


The deadline to apply is April 14, 2023 for consideration. See your school counselor and Teams for an application.

Are you interested in learning how to drive? We are currently opening registration for the Spring Driver Education Program.

      • If applicable, not needed to participate in the class.

      • Each student will need a Learner’s Permit to drive on the range and road.

      • Students will have an opportunity to take the test during the class.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY: The Citadel Church Jacksonville Scholarship

Candidate Eligibility Criteria

  • Students must be a senior in Duval County High School or enrolled in college full time or a

  • member of The Citadel Church.

  • Students must have maintained a 2.5 or above weighted GPA.

  • Students must submit two reference letters (non-family members).

  • Students must submit a typed double-spaced essay with a 500 minimum of no more than 700 words

  • describing how this scholarship will impact their college career.

  • Students must pursue higher education at a two-year or four-year institution of higher learning.

Completed applications are due on or before Friday, April 28, 2023 and can be submitted by email or mail. Email your school counselor for an application.






SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY: Douglas Anderson #107 Alumni Association, Inc. (Four $1000 Scholarships)

Douglas Anderson #107 Alumni Association, Inc. will award four $1,000.00 scholarships to deserving seniors who will graduate from a Duval County, Florida high school this year and attend an accredited college or university this fall. The Queen Elizabeth Bruton Scholarship for Education will be awarded to a graduating senior who attends a Historically Black College or University. The Sadie Jeffers Memorial Scholarship for the Arts will be awarded to a graduating senior who has matriculated in a program of the Arts. The Nathaniel S. Washington Scholarship for Community Service will be awarded to a graduating senior who has demonstrated outstanding community service. The Samuel Davis Jr. Scholarship for Leadership will be awarded to a graduating senior who has demonstrated a history of Leadership. The members of the Scholarship Committee are soliciting your help in identifying students who qualify.


The selection of recipients will be based on the following criteria:

  • A required cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 weighted or 3.0 un-weighted and a combined SAT score of 1000 or above or an ACT composite of 22 or above.

  • Two references: Teacher and Community Member (Both reference letters must each be submitted in a separate sealed envelope and submitted along with the scholarship application).

  • A well-written formal letter from the applicant which clearly and completely details his or her educational goals.

  • Must be a relative of a graduate of Douglas Anderson #107 High School who attended prior to 1969. Relative’s name must be included in designated space on the application form.

The deadline for submitting all information is April 18, 2023 Information received after April 18, 2023 will disqualify the student. An official transcript must accompany each application. The student must send all information to:

High School 9:12 LandSouth Construction Scholarships

High School 9:12 has partnered with LandSouth Construction to provide eight high school seniors with a $2,500 scholarship. The deadline is April 28th.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY: 2023 CGCS-Bernard Harris Math and Science Scholarship

The Council of the Great City Schools is partnering with Dr. Bernard Harris to offer the CGCS-Bernard Harris Math and Science Scholarships Program for high school seniors who are planning to major in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math). Named after former astronaut, physician and businessman Bernard Harris, who was the first African American to walk in space, the scholarships are available to 2023 graduating seniors in urban school districts represented by the Council. Four $5,000 scholarships for two males and two females each will be awarded to two African American and two Hispanic seniors pursuing studies in STEM-related fields in college next fall. To apply for the 2023 scholarship, the application must be submitted online by April 10, 2023.
