3). The 2022 Young Leaders Summit (YLS) - Free College Empowerment Summer Program

If you are a high-achieving high school junior and student leader, eager to learn everything there is to know about the college application process, then the Young Leaders Summit (YLS) is for you!

You were recommended as a competitive applicant for this highly-selective summer program, because of your strong academic performance and your College Board profile.

The deadline to apply is Friday, April 8, 2022, 5:00 PM PT.

YLS prepares high-achieving high school juniors to successfully apply to their dream colleges and universities, and gain access to financial aid.

It is completely free:

  • YLS pays for your roundtrip airfare transportation, from your hometown to Los Angeles, California (YLS 2022 will be hosted at the University of Southern California)

  • YLS pays for your dorm housing for the 5 days, within the YLS dorm on USC's campus (under supervision of YLS Staff)

  • YLS pays for all your food and program materials

Don't miss this life-changing opportunity, apply today! For more information, please review our YLS page or contact us.

4). FREE Valdosta State University APPLICATION MONTH!

This is a great time for students to begin submitting their applications!

They must complete the application online before 11:00 P.M. on April 30th.

5). Tufts University - The Voices of Tufts Diversity Experience (email your school counselor if you would like to be nominated for this opportunity)

The Voices of Tufts Diversity Experience (or “Voices” for short) is our signature fly-in program, designed to give high school seniors a first-hand sense of student life through mock classes, conversations and panels with current students, socials and community building events, and opportunities to connect with our eight identity-based resource centers. Voices will take place in October 2022. We are still finalizing the dates and modalities, but we are hopeful to have some in-person programming. There is no cost to participate in Voices, and all students who apply to Voices will have the application fee waived if they choose to apply for admission to Tufts.

We are seeking nominations for students you believe would be a good fit for Tufts. You are welcome to nominate any rising senior who attends high school in the United States. While Voices has traditionally attracted participants from underrepresented backgrounds – including but not limited to students of color, first generation college-bound students, LGBTQIA+ students, students from low-income backgrounds, students with disabilities, and students from rural communities – any student interested in learning about diversity on the Tufts campus is welcome to apply. We seek primarily to invite students who are kind, collaborative, civically-engaged, and interested in creating a more inclusive world. Tufts meets 100% of the demonstrated financial need for all admitted students, regardless of citizenship status.

Nominations are due by June 15, 2022. All nominated students will be contacted directly and encouraged to apply for Voices once the program application opens this summer. For the Class of 2026 (the students we just admitted!), over 100 students nominated for Voices last year were admitted to Tufts!

6). An FSCJ Honors Education for DCPS Graduating Seniors

The FSCJ Honors Program provides Associate in Arts students with opportunities for academic excellence, service-learning, leadership development, and fellowship within an intellectually vibrant, culturally diverse, and student-centered learning environment. Guided by knowledgeable and caring faculty, Honors students explore the world of ideas while benefiting from hands-on learning opportunities with a variety of local community and business partners.

The FSCJ Honors Program offers students two tracks, the Presidential Honors Scholars (cohort-based) and the Merit Honors Scholars (non-cohort-based). Additionally, students who are admitted to the Honors Program receive an academic scholarship. Presidential Honors Scholars receive a scholarship covering up to 60 credit hours of tuition toward an A.A. degree, and Merit Honors Scholars receive a scholarship covering up to $500 of tuition per term.

Students can apply to be considered for both tracks in the Fall Term. In the Spring Term, only the Merit Honors Scholars track is available. Most Honors classes are held at the South Campus, located at 11901 Beach Boulevard, with an increasing number of available online Honors classes as well.

Interested students may apply online by visiting the FSCJ Honors Program web page, clicking on “Application and Eligibility,” selecting “Honors Application,” and then following the guided steps. May 30, 2022, is the priority application deadline for admission in the Fall 2022 Term, and June 30 is the regular application deadline for admission this fall.
