Welcome back for the 2022-2023 school year!!!

Notre Dame is visiting Paxon (students must sign up and have permission from 5B teacher to attend)

A Notre Dame University Admissions Representative will be on campus Fri., August 26th from 9:15am-9:45am during 5B to meet with interested students. To attend this visit you must have your 5B teacher's permission AND sign up on the link listed below. Students will be dismissed from their 5B class at 9:00. to go to the Auditorium. https://forms.office.com/r/yT91SV4rh4



Seniors: Do you think you may need a letter of recommendation from your school counselor?

Please be sure to complete Paxon's Letter of Recommendation Information form so that your school counselor will have all of the information needed for completing a letter of recommendation for you.

Please not the following:

  • Completing Paxon's Letter of Recommendation form does not mean your school counselor will automatically write a letter for you. Letters must be requested.

  • Letters of recommendation must be requested at least 2 weeks in advance.



The Gates Scholarship

Eligibility requirements:

  • A high school senior

  • From at least one of the following ethnicities: African American, American Indian/Alaska Native*, Asian/Pacific Islander American, and/or Hispanic American

  • Pell-eligible

  • A US citizen, national, or permanent resident

  • In a good academic standing with a minimum cumulative weighted GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)

Additionally, a student must plan to enroll full-time, in a four-year degree program, at a US accredited, not-for-profit, private or public college or university.

*For American Indian/Alaska Native, proof of tribal enrollment will be required. An ideal candidate will also have:

  • An outstanding academic record in high school (in the top 10% of his/her graduating class)

  • Demonstrated leadership ability (e.g., as shown through participation in community service, extracurricular, or other activities)

  • Exceptional personal success skills (e.g., emotional maturity, motivation, perseverance, etc.)
