Paxon SAS is now an SAT Test Site!!!

Paxon is officially a Saturday SAT test site! As juniors and seniors register for the test, be sure to select Paxon as your test site and test where you feel comfortable. You may register at collegeboard.org and our test center code is 100780. Spread the word and we look forward to seeing you there!

United States District Court High School Essay Contest

Here is information from Judges of the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida, announcing the 2022 High School Essay Contest. They are pleased to announce that this year’s contest, unlike in the past, expands eligibility to students in ninth grade. If you are interested in working learning and writing about how the Constitution and the Amendments affect the vision and goals of the United Sates, please enter this contest for a chance to win prizes for yourself and your class. The essay submission deadline is September 23, 2022. More information can be found in the attachments to this email and on the contest website at www.flmd.uscourts.gov/contest.




Community Service/CAS Opportunity: Become a Paxon Learning Lab Assistant (Deadline to apply is Fri., Sept. 9th. See Ms. Marquis for details)

Paxon is looking for students to serve as Learning Lab Assistants that will provide peer tutoring throughout the week either before school, during lunch, or after school. As a Learning Lab Assistant, you will also be able to earn community service hours for the time you spend tutoring. Students must have earned a semester grade of a ‘B’ or higher in the subject that you would like to tutor. CLICK HERE to apply. The deadline to submit applications is Fri., Sept. 9th. SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY: United States JCI Senate Foundation Scholarship

Every the Florida JCI Senate Foundation awards scholarships in the amount of $1000.00 to a Florida Senior who has the desire to continue their education. There are several named scholarships and a few general scholarships that are available. They not only give out a scholarship to a college or University we also give one out to a student who is attending a trade school. Please email you school counselor for more information and to receive the scholarship application and student checklist for more information.





Journey Into Womanhood (JIW) girls mentoring program- FREE event 9/10/22

Journey Into Womanhood (JIW) girls mentoring program will run from September 2022 until May 2023. We will kick off our JIW program year with a FREE event- JIW game day and open house, on Saturday, September 10th from 10am-1pm. Girls grades 3rd-11th and their parents/caregiver are invited to this event to meet current JIW girls, volunteers, mentors, and learn more about the JIW program over food, games and fun!
