SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY: 1 essay = 15 different scholarship opportunities

It’s not too late – the 2023 Profile in Courage Essay Contest™ is still accepting submissions from high school students!

Our annual Essay Contest™ encourages high school students across the country to share inspiring stories of elected leaders past and present. With a winning essay, students can receive one of 15 scholarship awards for college, including a $10,000 first-place prize.

The January 13, 2023 deadline for the contest is quickly approaching.




Virginia Tech's Black College Institute 2023 applications are now live!

Applications for Virginia Tech's 7th annual Black College Institute (BCI) are now live! We invite high-achieving and intellectually curious rising high school juniors and seniors to apply and participate in this summer academic leadership program! This year's BCI will be offered fully in person at Virginia Tech's main campus in Blacksburg, Virginia. This residential program will offer one session for rising juniors and two sessions for rising seniors.

  • Current sophomores are encouraged to apply for the rising juniors session taking place June 11- June 14, 2023.

  • Current juniors are encouraged to apply for one of the rising seniors sessions taking place June 18- June 22, 2023, OR June 25- June 29, 2023. You can only participate in one of the two sessions.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY: Sons of Italy in America Amici d’ Italia Lodge 2791 Scholarship
  • Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen with at least an Italian or Italian-American grandparent.

  • Applicants must have a minimum grade point average of 3.00 (not weighted)

  • Applicants must have a minimum SAT total score of 1000 or must have an ACT composite score of 23.

  • Recipients must be accepted as a full-time student into an accredited community college, college, university or technical/vocational school and enroll immediately following graduation from high school.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY: Achieving the Dream Scholarship for Seniors applications are now open! Deadline to submit an application is May 15, 2023.

First Coast Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (FCHCC), along with its donors, awards promising Hispanic students’ scholarships to continue their education. FCHCC awards between 10-12 scholarships to deserving Hispanic students each year and recognizes them at an Annual Hispanic Heritage Gala & ATD Awards.

To qualify, students must be of Hispanic/Latino descent, live on one of the First Coast's five counties, have a 3.0 GPA, complete an application that includes two short essays, and send official transcripts for the selection committee to review and select the recipients.

Please share the information with ALL your students of Hispanic/Latino descent students.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY: Royal Vagabond Club Annual Scholarship Application

2023 marks the 10th year that the Royal Vagabond Club has made scholarship offerings of $1000.00 each to 4 recipients to attend an accredited college or university of their choice.

This past year’s recipients are currently attending Florida A&M University, Boston University, UCF and the US Naval Academy. Deadline to apply is March 1, 2023. The application is posted on the Paxon School Counseling Team in the Scholarships channel.

Are you an outstanding student with high test scores AND have a financial need? This scholarship is for you!

    • Major Coding: CEGR, CIET, CPGR, CMET, EEGR, ELET, ETGR, ENGR, FSET, FRST, MEGR, MEET, SEGR

  • Family income reported through the 2022 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must indicate the student is eligible for a Federal Pell Grant

  • Student must have unmet financial needs in excess of $5,000

  • Completion of at least a pre-calculus course in high school and the ability to enroll in college calculus during the first semester at UNC Charlotte

  • Grade of C or better in all high school math courses

The 5th Annual Greater Atlanta HBCU College Fair

The 5th Annual Greater Atlanta Historically Black College and University (HBCU) College Fair is scheduled (Virtual) on Friday, February 4th from 10am until 2pm and Saturday, and in-person February 11th, 2022, from 9am until 2pm at Meadowcreek High School, 4455 Steve Reynolds Blvd., Norcross, Georgia 30093.


High school juniors and seniors are encouraged to register for the fair by visiting the official website at: https://fair.hbcucf.org/registration


This year there will be an HBCU “Homecoming” week of events, workshops, and contests for scholarships and awards from February 4th through February 11th, 2023.


Additionally, student musicians will be offered a platform to display their talents before a panel of distinguished HBCU band directors for college band scholarships. Last year, the participating HBCU band directors offered students a total of $85,000 in potential scholarship dollars.

Lehigh Summer Program for High School Students (for current sophomores and juniors)!

We are excited to share that we are accepting applications from current high school sophomores and juniors for our Iacocca Global Entrepreneurship Intensive (IGEI)! This program will be hosted on Lehigh's campus from June 25 – July 22, 2023 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Your students can join a group of emerging leaders from across the U.S. and around the world to create diverse teams and solve a real problem facing a company or organization. Through the entrepreneurship intensive, they'll be able to do a dive deep into focus areas like sustainability, population health or business. The curriculum is led by faculty from across the university and throughout the worldwide Iacocca Institute network. It also includes contributions from and collaboration with Lehigh's Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity & Innovation, the Lehigh@NasdaqCenter and the Mountaintop Initiative.
