1). Upcoming CLIMB 22 Event

CLIMB 22 is scheduled for Saturday, February 19th , 2022 between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM. At the event there will be static aircraft displays, speakers and plane rides! It’s a great opportunity to expose students to the wonderful aviation industry. If you are interested in participating, please sign-up for the event at the below link:









2). DCCPTA 2022 Scholarship for Graduating Senior

The Duval County Council of PTAs 2021 – 2022 Scholarship for Graduating Seniors has just been released! Scholarship applications can be accessed at https://forms.gle/neoXgLvqoFfaGiSc8. The nonrenewable $500 scholarship awards are sponsored by PTA/PTSA local units and generous business partners. Although seniors must have their own student PTSA membership to meet eligibility requirements, ALL graduating seniors are encouraged to apply. The application deadline is Monday, March 21, 2022 @ 5:00pm. All scholarship materials can be found on the DCCPTA website, https://www.dccpta.org/programs/scholarships-grants/.



3). UNF Hicks Honors College Day

The University of North Florida will be holding an event for their Hicks Honors College on January 29th, 2022, and would like to invite high achieving to give them a glimpse of the fabulous prospects to come. The day includes taking a college-level honors class, meeting with campus offices who will discuss new student orientation, financial aid, living on campus, and more, eating lunch at the Osprey Café, and touring campus. Students will get to take an in-depth look at the opportunities offered through the Hicks Honors College, as well as take a tour of the Honors Living Learning Community (LLC) residence hall. 4). SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY: American Legion High School Oratorical Contest (open to any high school student)

Need money for college? Then consider talking your way to college. You can if you are a winner in the American Legion High School Oratorical Contest. Talking can pay big dividends. The awards are as follows:

  • National Awards: 1st place=$25,000, 2nd place=$22,000, and 3rd place=$20,000.

  • The Florida winner: $2500

  • Anyone who makes it to the national competition: $2000 (an additional $2000 will be awarded for students advancing from the quarter finals to the semi-finals).
