This summer Norte Dame University hosted a series of college application workshops to help high school seniors with their college search. All sessions were recorded and are a great resource for students as they begin the college application process.
EMBODI (Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence)
EMBODI was designed to serve and uplift African American males for personal development and independence. The Academy meets monthly with young men to discuss such program topics as conflict resolution, study and test taking skills, community involvement, self-esteem, peer pressure, finance, and healthy lifestyles. The EMBODI program is designed to chart the journey of young African American males as they strive to meet their fullest potential in the areas of educational, social, and emotional development thus enabling them to acquire the skills needed to become responsible, independent, and productive members of their communities. As a participant in the EMBODI Program, African American males ages 11-18 will have the opportunity to participate in workshops, field trips and community service activities. The HBCU Week Foundation is partnering with Disney On The Yard to host their event at Walt Disney World Resort Oct 7-9. What does that mean?

Reminder - Medical and mental health services available to students
Reminder - Mental and physical health service are available for all students in Duval County Public Schools. Through our partnership with Hazel Health, students have access to physical and mental health counseling sessions and on-demand doctor visits at school and at home. This is at NO COST to families! For students to access these services, parents and guardians will need to sign a consent form. It is available at https://my.hazel.co/duvalschools.
How It Works - Hazel Health doctors can evaluate your child’s symptoms and provide the appropriate type of treatment from school or at home from 7AM - 5 PM on school days. Hazel can help with everything from the flu to acne and asthma to allergies, headaches, and pink-eye.
Students also have access to virtual counseling sessions from home. When a child is struggling with their emotions, Hazel can quickly provide assessments and screenings, counseling, and education and navigation to additional resources and care. A Hazel counselor can work with your child for depression, anxiety, bullying, peer relationships, and more.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY: Florida State Fair Art Portfolio Contest for High School Seniors
The Florida State Fair is proud to provide an opportunity for your most talented art students to receive scholarship money for their continuing education after they graduate High School.
This year the FL State Fair will continue to use the professional online application program called Juried Art Services. Juried Art Services offers technical support if a student has an issue. This application process is the same as last year and will provide your students a real-life experience as to how this is done by professional artists.
This contest awards $10,000 in scholarship money to 12 High School Seniors!
The first prize is $3000, the second prize is $2000, and 10 awards of merit for $500 will be presented at this year’s fair in February.
