Community Conversations is a series of virtual information sessions providing culturally inclusive and relevant information to students about Stanford’s admission process, campus community centers, and our diverse student body. The sessions will take place between September 27 and October 20.
Community Conversations are open to students of ALL backgrounds, regardless of how they may identify. We especially encourage participants from historically underrepresented groups, including Black/African American, Hispanic/Latinx, Native American/Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander American, LGBTQ+, and first-generation and/or low-income college students.

6). SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY: The Black American Engineering Scholarship Award
The Black American Engineering Scholarship Award provides opportunities to underrepresented students in the field of engineering through scholarship funds and mentorship. Qualifying students can receive up to $10,000 per year for up to 4 years, helping them achieve a bachelor’s degree in engineering. Our application period is open now through Jan. 15, 2022 and we would love to pass along information to any of your current seniors of color who plan to pursue a degree in engineering next year.

9). 2021 Hispanic Heritage Month Theme and Student Contests
About the Student Essay Contest
First Lady Casey DeSantis’ Hispanic Heritage Month Essay Contest is open to all 4-12 grade students in Florida. Each student will submit one essay no longer than 500 words based on this year’s theme. Three winners will be selected: one elementary school student (grades 4-5), one middle school student (grades 6-8) and one high school student (grades 9-12). Each winner will receive a 4-Year Florida College Plan scholarship provided by the Florida Prepaid College Foundation. To ensure Florida students have an opportunity to participate, the deadline for all submissions is 5:00 pm Eastern Time on Monday, October 11, 2021.
