1). Paxon's Learning Lab starts Mon., Sep. 13th - Tutoring will be by appointment only so sign up now!!!

Paxon's Learning lab is a student-led tutoring resource that offers tutoring on specific days before school, during each lunch, and after school in Rm. 503 (Eagle wing). Tutoring is by appointment only. 2). Mayor's Youth at Work Partnership-Deadline to apply extended to Nov. 12, 2021

The MYAWP provides eligible students work-related experiences that prepare them to succeed in employment. We partner with local businesses who employ and train students. Each student and employer will work with a Job Coach who will assist in the employment process, provide support, training and be a liaison between the student and employer. In addition to employment, students will develop social skills, learn work norms and culture, understand career pathways, build professional networks and learn to manage money.

To be eligible students must

  • apply here by November 12th.

  • be 16-21 years old.

  • be enrolled in a high school, GED program, technical school, or college in Duval County.

  • have at least a 2.0 GPA.

6). 2022 Scholastics Art & Writing Awards Submission Window is OPEN!

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, started in 1923, is the nation's longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for creative teens! Every year DCPS students earn regional and national awards + collect MILLIONS of dollars in college scholarship offers through this program! Students age 13+ in grades 7-12 are encouraged to enter their original visual art and creative writing works for professional adjudication. The submission deadline for the 2022 season is December 6, 2021 for Creative Writing and December 10, 2021 for Visual Art.
