Preparing for the PSAT/NMSQT
The PSAT/NMSQT will take place at Paxon on Wed., Oct. 11th. It is important that JUNIORS this test very seriously this year, as this is the grade level for which they may qualify for National Merit Scholarships according to how they score.

Mayor's Young Leaders Advisory Council 2023-2024
Do you have students who are interested in leadership and civic engagement? We would love for them to join us for the 2023-2024 year Mayor's Young Leaders Advisory Council (MYLAC). This year’s MYLAC will begin September 30, 2023 and run through May of 2024. As a member of MYLAC, the students will be provided with leadership opportunities and the chance to learn more about city government and effective citizenship while developing a civically engaged mindset. MYLAC students have the chance to share their ideas with city officials and advise on current issues facing Jacksonville youth. Seniors who successfully complete the MYLAC session will be granted a Florida prepaid scholarship. The information for your students to apply is below!
To be eligible you must:
Attend a Duval County School
High school Junior or Senior
Maintain a 2.0 GPA or better
Write an essay on a provided topic
The deadline to register is Friday, September 29, 2023

2024 Coca-Cola Scholars Application (Open until Oct. 2nd)
The 2024 application for the Coca-Cola Scholarship (open to high school students who will graduate during the 2023-2024 academic year) will be available from our website August 1 through October 2, 2023. Note that we have an earlier deadline this year! Please plan to share this opportunity with your graduating students who are having a significant positive impact in your school and community through their leadership and service.
